Carbon steel pipes inherently possess high structural strength and stability. In piping systems, sealing is typically achieved through welding, flange connections, or threaded connections. Their sealing performance primarily depends on the connection method and machining precision; the flatness of the pipe ends, weld quality, and fit clearance all directly affect the overall sealing effect.

 

In practical applications, welded carbon steel pipes offer better sealing, forming a continuous and dense metal-metal interface, making them suitable for high-pressure or long-term operating piping systems. Flange connections facilitate disassembly and maintenance, but their sealing performance depends on the quality of the gasket and the tightness of the bolts. Threaded connections are mostly used in medium- and low-pressure pipelines, offering convenient installation but requiring higher machining precision.

 

When carbon steel pipes are used in high-pressure, high-temperature, or corrosive media environments, their sealing performance is affected. Therefore, they typically require the use of sealing gaskets, anti-corrosion coatings, or linings. Regular inspections are necessary.
