Hot-dip galvanizing remains the most widely used and effective method for steel corrosion protection. The basic process involves immersing coiled steel sheets in a molten zinc bath, causing a layer of zinc to adhere to their surface.

 

With technological advancements, the automation level of galvanizing production lines is continuously improving. For example, the use of slag-removing robots can efficiently remove zinc pot slag 24 hours a day, ensuring product quality; zinc layer thickness measuring instruments can achieve zero-time-difference dynamic adjustment, precisely controlling the zinc layer thickness. Furthermore, new production line technologies are also developing, such as wide-plate zinc-aluminum-magnesium production lines fueled by blast furnace gas, which can be used to produce high-end products such as photovoltaic brackets.

 

The corrosion resistance life of galvanized coils can be increased by 3-5 times. Taking outdoor exposure tests as an example, in a coastal high-salt-spray environment, ordinary carbon steel shows severe corrosion after 3 years, while galvanized coils still maintain more than 80% of their zinc layer thickness after 10 years. Its surface uniformity advantage is reflected in the processing-consistent zinc layer thickness reduces the risk of cracking during stamping and bending, improving the yield rate.
